Knee Replacement Surgery Treatment

Share
Knee Replacement or Knee orthroplasty is a surgical procedure performed to relieve the pain and disability from arthritis. The operation is done while you are asleep and without pain (general anesthesia) or with a numbing medication put in your back (spinal or epidural anesthesia). The orthopedic surgeon makes a surgical cut over the affected knee. The kneecap (patella) is moved out of the way, and the ends of the thigh bone (femur) and shin bone (tibia) are cut to fit the prosthesis. The under surface of the knee cap is cut to allow the surgeon to place an artificial piece.

Knee Replacement is one of the major surgeries performed in India. With the help of Medical Tourism there is always a tremendous increase of people traveling to India for Knee Replacement. India is one such place where a patient from abroad can make good savings even if it’s a general health check up or for a super specialty surgery.

Obtaining knee surgery in India has become a trend right now. The major populations coming for a knee treatment are mostly from US, UK, UAE and African countries. This trend has become popular due to no insurance coverage or just that the patients can not afford treatment back home and the waiting period.

For example in UK the typical waiting time for a Knee Replacement would be for ten months, wherein in India it is exactly the other way around. Patients from abroad are given a quick guidance in terms of their treatment, cost, accommodation, pre-consultation, post-surgery etc. This is where Medical Tourism Companies like us come hand in hand.

We take a complete ownership with the patients’ case history, address it to the concerned Hospital with International standards, educate the patient on the facilities available, provide them enough information about the suggested treatment, successfully get them treated and send them back home happily.

We, Treatment Trips being an International Patient Care Facilitator have treated many patients with care & quality especially for knee treatments. We use some the most advanced technologies at our World renowned hospitals to treat the knee conditions. One such procedure is Minimally Invasive Knee Surgery or knee keyhole surgery (knee arthroscopy).

Minimally Invasive Knee Surgery or knee keyhole surgery (knee arthroscopy) is done through smaller incision of about 4- to 6-inch with new approaches like quadriceps or quads sparing, mid-vastus and sub-vastus. This Minimal Invasive surgery is completely computer aided, in which the medical software is connected to a surgical infra-red camera. The surgeon uses this modern technology to perform the surgery, although it does not replace the Surgeon.

It only allows the Surgeon to perform the surgery with 3D- visualization, provide accurate navigation and precision. Minimally invasive knee replacement surgery causes less trauma to the soft tissues enabling in quicker recovery.

Benefits of Minimally Invasive Surgery
  1. Smaller Incision
  2. Less Scarring
  3. Less Blood Loss
  4. Quick gain of Muscle Strength
  5. The important quadriceps muscle and tendon are not disrupted
  6. Decreased Post Operative pain

  1. It is the responsibility of the nurse to take care of the well being of the patient until the doctor arrives. Hence she must be skilled enough to administer not only first aid but some general treatment as well. A vocational LVN nursing program must offer specialization to the student in a certain field for e.g. maternity, trauma etc.
